We're here to serve you.

As your student government we are here to create events to build a Christlike community that bring different people together.

Compassion is to suffer together. It is not only to be concerned for the sufferings of others, but to take action for and with them. Jesus said that whatever we do don’t do into the least of these, we do or don’t do unto to him. In Matthew 25:31-46, he repeats over and over the phrase, “I was…” Hungry. Thirsty. Stranger. Unclothed. Sick. Imprisoned. Join us each day this week as we put our focus and efforts on those brothers and sisters in these specific situation. See below for details on each days event/ serve project.

Then Jesus said to them, “I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” Today we put our focus on those who are thirsty. Monday, Sept 17th, at 8pm we will meet in the Heritage Room we will gather to watch a movie that raises awareness for the many people who need clean water. We will have free popcorn for everyone that attends.

tuesday: Salvation Army Tour

Then Jesus said to them, “I was in prison and you came and visited me.” Today we put our focus on those who are imprisoned. We will be taking a tour of the Salvation Army in order to learn about how they are helping those who are imprisoned (in several ways). The tour will begin at 3pm on Tuesday, Sept 18th. We will be providing the transportation. Click below to sign up if you are interested.

Wednesday: Feed the Children

Then Jesus said to them, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” Today we put our focus on those who are hungry. Join us in this serve project as we pack boxes at Feed the Children from 6-8pm. Transportation will be provided. Click below to sign up if you are interested.

thursday: kingdom come

Then Jesus said to them, “I needed clothes and you clothed me.” Today we put our focus on those who need clothes. Meeting at 9pm in Broadhurst, we will be making tie blankets for the Oklahoma Homeless Alliance. This event will be our Kingdom Come for the week, and you will receive Christian Formation (chapel) credit for serving with us.

There is also a clothing driving going on all week for No Boundaries. Look for boxes to set clothes in all the residence halls and the Commons.

Friday: southern Plaza

The Jesus said to them, “I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Today we put our focus on those who are strangers to us. We will be hanging out at the Southern Plaza Retirement Community. We will be playing live music for them and board games with them. If you can play an instrument or sing we would love to have you perform and sing. Come join on Friday, Sept 21 from 1-3pm. The retirement center is within walking distance of the campus.

All Week: Water Drive

All week (Sept 17th through the 21st) we will have a booth set up in the commons where you bring water and clothes to be donated. If you bring a case of water, you will get a free Chick Fli-A card. There will also be a station set up for making cards for the Children’s Center Rehabilitation Center across the street. Someone will be at this booth at both lunch and dinner times to take your donations and give you a FREE Compassion Week shirt to everyone that participated in two or more ways.
